I don't remember if this was mentioned other than on some ttf phone conference but...
I'm thinking we should have advanced sort filters where you can list the forum in a variety of particular ways.
1. famed serendipity sort [randomize + mark random new]
2. randomize [shuffle up all the posts]
3. thread wise [counts threads ascending/descending]
4. glorious dump [loads every thread in a particular forum section in an intensive dump]
5. new beginnings [everything marked new]
6. user post frequency [replies ascending/descending]
7. view frequency [ascending/descending]
I can't think of any others right now, go!
p.s. thanks for the hijack larz ;D
you should have archived my hijack--i did.
hahahah, fuck yes this was mentioned! i love the randomizer. hahahah
what about the "learned helplessness feature"? every time you read a new thread, it is marked as read, but some random old thread is marked as new instead. so you can never read all the new threads--it's endless.
eventually you feel helpless and quit ttf.

I think it would be nice if we could also sort by view count, or sort by post count asc/desc.
I just looked through a few forum sections and hit next 15 about 3 or 4 times and the views and posts drop below 100 rapidly.
Pretty sure it's all these folks with tons of freshies who haven't realized awesome older posts.
I still think the last line I wrote still stands! There's gold on ttf, dig a little!
i think we may be creating duplicate topics - i've definitely seen a 'how did you get here' thread at least twice now. sorting by views would be great, as could using a better search algorithm if they are readily available. anyone else have thoughts on this?
