make your case.
i just ripped an EP into FLAC and it's ridiculous: 157mb for 25 minutes.
depends on what you want out of it. I rip to MP3 because I typically listen to my rips on the train or through my laptop speakers. my rips are all of CDs I own, so I just listen to those when I want the highest quality. if you want to listen to the files on insane quality stuff without using the original media, then rip to FLAC. space is a factor as well; I just don't have the hard drive space for FLAC, otherwise I'd consider it.
forgot about vorbis :). I don't think my portable MP3 player supports it. neither does my MP3 CD player. neither does iTunes. case closed.
Ogg Vorbis vs. MP3 makes sense. At the same file size, you will get better quality with vorbis.
Flac is just a badass format. The size requirements are ridiculous though. :(
