i learned to use the AE-L AF-L button when shooting on AF-C :)
i learned to cast a conventional reel without getting a nest.
i learned squid in this area can be giant squid
i learned the regular squid change colors like cuddlefish and octopus for camoflage
white balance WB, K 3500 rocks blue colors for real.
maybe i'm drunk or maybe i have no idea what this all is
dp: white balance WB, K 3500 rocks blue colors for real.
maybe... only if your white balance was taken under magnesium lights (2.7 - 3.5k) and then you shot under either moonlight (7.5 - 10k) or straight daylight (5k)
don't rep with a bmt photog!
for anyone who doesn't understand, light is measured in terms of black body radiation. the general idea is that you heat up a radiator painted black that absorbs all light (black body radiator) to a specific heat (in kelvin) and it'll emit light at a specific wavelength. most pro. cameras (including the ones at my station) are tuned to consider a specific wavelength to be "true white" for the situation.

p.s. i'm drunk...

Drunk by Myself
.. I have a lot of homework to do.
hahha i couldn't understand this last night either...
nobody learned anything?
thanks db, straight daylight!

not true. a black body will emit a continuum of wavelengths. but there will be a specific wavelength with greatest intensity (which is what you're referring to.)
sorry. i battle terse posts like this. :o

i learned of the tampax absorption spectra
lr: sorry, my understanding is far from complete (very far) but i was pissed at just having to judge color temperature by eye without having at least some understanding of it. also, terse in a bad way?
your post took me a while to grasp, but the main culprit was the first post. i also don't get the notation/units you used in your post.
terse is fun sometimes, but it can be incredibly annoying. i guess in this case, it was the latter for me.
in retrospect, i probably shouldn't have posted that above.
i just learned that when exploring, finding things is exciting, except when it's your bellybutton.
the AE-L/AF-L button is apparently a lot more useful than I knew :) so many combinations of focusing settings and exposure locking.
andyp
nothing is wrong - what are you scared of?
i use that button like theres no tomorrow
relevant to the thread title, and a badass word regardless: πολυμαθής
I can read ελληνικη: polymath what what
this post died because nobody posted their answers to this question:
what did you learn?
