what do you do with old pcs?

here is what i want to do with my sisters old p3:

i have a p4 prescott that i have no use for. it might just end up doing ^ that job.

the law is no protection
an old P4 that was originally a Gateway PC is my router/firewall/server. my mom's neighbors gave it to me like four or five years ago. router/firewall is a good application for an old computer, and if you want to run a fairly low-traffic server they're great too. file server would be cool too.

i have taken the fileserver route in the past, although most recently i setup a freebsd machine for shell services while learning c. it's also a great way to tunnel traffic via ssh for checking my banking info while at citybrew. also i tunneled rdp so i could check my dc's status while away from home.

that said, i think i'm going to take the torrentflux route with my freebsd machine, as per dp's recommendation.

I plan on starting a file server soon my self I have a Dell PowerEdge 4400 I got from a coworker. It has 8x32gig drives

i have a 6300 with about the same. power hungry mother... too power hungry.

i put vmware virtual ifrastructure 3 on it.

anyways i used my ps2 as a torrent box for a while that was fun.
