how did you end up posting on ttf?
I met lucas and dannyp - not sure who first - via either
bsdforums.org or forums.bsdnexus.com. somehow I found out about ttf, probably from lucas promoting on bsdnexus or in the #bsd IRC room and here I am! I don't think I've ever met anyone on here in person :).
I was forumless.
I was purchasing an x60 at the time and reading the forums on thinkpads.com.
lucas and/or dp were making some insightful comments (or something like that) and I saw ttf in their sig.
Bam.
I haven't met anyone on here in person, but I do recommend this place to all my friends who would be inclined to ttf.

that's neat. I like how people stumble upon forums.

I found thinktankforums and used the code from svn on another site.
And the banter here is worth hanging around for. =D

be honest, you're a #bsd guy too :). I thought you knew about ttf before and I just kind of encouraged you into posting?

Yea I do remember that. Taucher started dying and I was lonely...
#bsd, good times.
how did you end up posting on ttf?
In the beginning there was wingedleopard web log, version the first.
http://wingedleopard.net/wlwlv1/
Nearly half the members on that version are here today!
http://wingedleopard.net/wlwlv1/?members
Then there was the suicides. Shortly after the suicides, version two came about:
http://wingedleopard.net/wlwlv2/
Version two wasn't around for very long, and ttf was being developed around the time that version two existed. The purposes were a bit different. Wingedleopardweb is not alive in the same way, and now ttf is! What's different these days is that there is no weblog for users tied in to wlw. Only the ttf forum exists. I'm not sure if the era of wlw will return, blogging has changed and developed. I still think wlw can bring some freshness to keep a community together.

I like the concept of wlw a lot.
this is a web log forum based in billings, montana. there are seven original bmt bloggers: cac, db, dc, dp, drw, and lr. the personal blogs are on the left. it is all about the discussion, and it is all from the heart of bmt. enjoy browsing the forums.
all six of the original wlwl users remain and have experienced ttf!

So wait...did larz really pay people to post? That seems like a larz thing to do, but I'm just not sure.

that's pretty poor
one of ttf's users had a debt with me, so i banned him. ttf would redirect him to a custom paypal page
