Me and a friend are working on a New York Make (as in www.makezine.com) Meeting. As such we are setting up a website for the meeting. As you guys are pretty knowledgeable folks, and generally have seen a lot of the internet. I was wondering if anyone here has come across a web app preferably php that has a decent blog and calendar system.

We're already using dokuwiki for the wiki contingent.

wordpress is the slowest software i've ever used. it's INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING.

Reading the Wordpress source is like watching some '50's B movie; so bad it's funny.
